Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Specialist

The ideal candidate must possess a keen understanding of online marketing, ideally in the B2C space, with a strong background in pay-per-click (PPC) management. This role requires the ability to operate on both a strategic and tactical level, touching all aspects of the search marketing roadmap including keyword management, creation of campaign messaging, bidding strategies, creative testing, attribution monitoring and analytics. Blue Sky Marketing is a certified Google Partner. This position is full time salaried with benefits, including attendance at industry-specific conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Execute tests, collect and analyze data, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns
  • Track, report, and analyze website analytics and PPC initiatives and campaigns
  • Manage the day-to-day search marketing activities across multiple search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, Bing, etc.) including the campaign planning, implementation, budget management, performance review, and optimization of paid search campaigns.
  • Integrate strategies and recommendations into other active marketing channels such as Email Marketing and Social Media.
  • Manage campaign expenses, staying on budget, estimating monthly costs and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing
  • Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
  • Research and analyze competitor advertising links
  • Integration – work with broader advertising team to ensure communication synergies and other efficiencies across platforms.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with concrete campaign portfolio
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
  • In-depth experience with website analytics tools
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in PPC
  • Should hold some combination of the following certifications: Google AdWords Certification, Google Analytics Certification, Yahoo Ambassador, etc.
  • BS/BA degree required in a marketing or quantitative, test-driven field
